Biography

The handling of wool is fascinating me for a long time now. For me it creates a balance to other activities, it helps me on my way to inner peace, and it is an opportunity to express myself artistically. When I was 14 years old I created my first application with the encouragement of a friend who also taught me spinning. Since then I was caught in the world of the textile.

I am married to Jens Hofmann and I have three children who are now old enough, for me to have free-time for engaging in textile arts. Before my children were born and when they were little, I experimented in textile techniques and took courses in e.g. Felting, Patchwork, doll sewing, and making bobbin lace. I later also started to teach some courses. Spinning, knitting, and embroidery helps me relax the best. My other hobbies: Nature, gardening, and animals are often present in my works.

Between the birth of my first child in 1996 and my promotion to Dr. med. Vet in 1994,  I worked as a veterinarian. From 1986 to 1992 I studied veterinary medicine in Gießen and Munich. I was born in 1967 in Mühldorf am Inn.
